HR & Office Manager/Director

Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK) seeks a talented leader to oversee human resources and office management for a small but rapidly growing social services organization in New Haven. Appropriate candidates will have at least two years supervisory experience, preferably consecutive, at least two years experience in human resources, be completely at ease in an office environment and be able to effectively supervise staff, interns, and volunteers. Preference will be given to candidates who are New Haven residents, bilingual, and are familiar with the stresses endured by staff working with people experiencing homelessness, struggling with substance use or mental health disorders, and/or have a history of trauma. Appropriate candidates will be passionate about DESK’s mission, intuitively understanding the organization’s culture and approach.

Mission & Background Information
DESK serves people experiencing homelessness or living in poverty by providing food assistance and services that promote health, community, and equity. We are located in Downtown New Haven at 266 State Street.
