PUBLIC ART: TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO PAINT

State & Bradley Mural: Sign-up to paint!

On Saturday/Sunday May 1 & 2, we will prime the walls and on Saturday/Sunday, May 15 & 16, we will fill in the outline that our terrific local artists (Alex and Annika) will sketch out post-priming. (I am guessing we’ll end up tacking on a few extra painting days for final touches!) This article shows some of the images for the mural.

This is the link to the volunteer sign-up sheet.

We need lots of volunteers and no artistic skills are needed. Kids are very welcome to help! We have to limit the number of people per shift due to COVID restrictions, but you’ll see there are lots of shifts throughout the day each day. Just let me know if you have any questions. And a giant thanks to John Martin for all his amazing organizing work on this project!

Intersection to Connection: The wonderfully creative crosswalk painting at Chapel and State Streets and Chapel and Union Avenue that is part of the Intersection to Connection project is scheduled for April 24-25 & May 1–2. Last week I said there would not be volunteer opportunities, but Town Green has decided that there is room for 35 volunteers to help paint over the course of the weekends.

Here is the link to sign-up!

Many thanks to New Haven Alder Abby Roth for sharing the above information!
