August 2021 – vol. 76
Welcome to the August edition of the info new haven e-newsletter. Summer may be winding down, but we’re still going strong with events, activities, and the best shopping around. Soak up the August sun (with your SPF, of course), make your back-to-school lists, and keep scrolling to find out why we’ve got it all!
In the Spotlight:  2021 Olympics Viewing

Hope you didn’t put away your favorite patriotic outfit after Independence Day – throw on your red, white and blue and head to downtown’s Pitkin Plaza to watch the 2021 Summer Olympics and cheer on team USA while dining al fresco.

We’ll be celebrating National Waffle Day (August 24) all month long!  Enjoy an outdoor brunch at one of our many fantastic downtown restaurants (yes, brunch is a very real meal. No, we won’t be hearing any arguments against it).

What’s better than back to school deals? That’s right, back to school deals during Connecticut Tax Free Week! Our shops downtown are ready for you to shop ‘til you drop this August 15-21.

Oh, how we love our parks. Where else can you take in views of downtown, New Haven Harbor, and the Long Island Sound in one place? That’s right, nowhere. So take a trip to East Rock Park this National Park Service Founders Day (8/25) or any day this month.
Fun by the Scoop

I scream, you scream, New Haven screams for ice cream!  Nothing like a sweet treat to cool off on a hot summer day.  Don’t forget to stop by one of downtown’s ice cream spots while you’re out exploring and treat yourself to scoop (or two!)
